Saying Goodbye (but not really) to Jill Hendrix
All of us at Professional Booksellers School are wishing Jill Hendrix, founding dean of the Inventory Management course, happy trails and happy reading as she moves on to her next adventure! Having closed her store, Fiction Addiction, Jill is now supporting bookstores in her position at MVB.
When asked about her time with Professional Booksellers School, Hendrix said, “I have loved working for the school, which has allowed me to curate and then share the knowledge I learned during my 20+ years as a bookseller. It makes my heart sing that the school will continue on even though my store has closed.” Hendrix founded Fiction Addiction in 2001, and made the “bittersweet decision” to close their doors this May. But you’ll still see her around: Hendrix has accepted a full-time position as a Customer Success Specialist with MVB!
When asked if she had any parting advice for PBS students, Hendrix said, “My new role at MVB has me learning even more about applying continuous learning within organizations, and I encourage PBS students to lean into experimentation, testing assumptions, and be willing to risk small failures for the purpose of learning.”
