Each 3-week course delves into leadership principles to help bookstore owners & managers be better leaders, and to learn to build trust and a sense of belonging among their staff and community. Each course is built around a book on leadership, and will feature a discussion with the author and practice applying concepts in theory and practice.

For each course, week one will explain the significance and value of its leadership concept, week two will be discussions with the author to learn how the concept works, and week three will show you how to incorporate these skills into your life.

Fee: $275 per 3-session course. Bundle of all three courses: $600 

Course 1  The Culture Code by Daniel Coyle. Hone your communication skills to build trust and positive relationships with both staff and customers. Classes meet on Wednesdays March 13, March 20, March 27 from 3 - 4 pm ET / 2 -3 pm CT / 12 - 1 pm PT.

Course 2 Leading with Dignity by Dr. Donna Hicks  Create the foundations for diversity, equity and Inclusion as well as healing conflicts and challenges that come our way in work life or with customers. Classes meet on Wednesdays May 1, May 8, May 15  from 3 - 4 pm ET / 2 -3 pm CT / 12 - 1 pm PT.


Course 3 Engaging Emergence: Turning Upheaval into Opportunity by Peggy Holman.  Learn effective principles and practices for working with change and the unexpected. Classes meet Wednesdays September 11, September 18, and September 25 from 3 - 4 pm ET / 2 - 3 pm CT / 12-1 pm PT.
