Are you Ready for Your Busiest Season?

In my former life as a bookseller, time was my most precious commodity and sometimes that caused my margins to suffer. A good example was when I’d get a school order for one copy each of 30-50 different ISBNs. The thought of figuring out the direct supplier for each ISBN was overwhelming and so I’d be tempted to just send the whole order to Ingram. When you do that over and over again, though, you end up losing important discount points that really add up. The ABA says that the difference between a profitable and an unprofitable store is usually only 2% of margin.

If you use Pubeasy.com and you have your suppliers linked, you’d take these steps:

1. Create order | ISBN List
2. Set the dropdown to All My Suppliers, copy & paste in your list of ISBNs and quantities from the school spreadsheet, and click submit.
3. Select the Orderable products radio button, select all, and click Add Selected to Shopping Cart.
4. Double-check your minimums and submit your orders.
