In partnership with Whole School Leadership, the Professional Booksellers School is offering a series of three Portal to Leadership courses. Each 3-week course delves into leadership principles to help bookstore owner & managers be better leaders, and learn to build trust and a sense of belonging among their staff and community. Each course is built around a book on leadership, and will feature discussion with the author and practice applying concepts in theory and practice.

Whole School Leadership Institute's mission is to create peak professional learning and development opportunities that afford the integration of leadership skills and capacities, deep personal insight, and positive professional growth in order to be a transformative leader in educational communities in the world. 

All classes meet online on Wednesdays from 3-4 pm ET / 2-3 pm CT/ Noon- 1 pm PT.

For each course, week 1 will explain the significance and value of its leadership concept, week 2 will be discussions with the author to learn how the concept works, and week 3 will show you how to incorporate these skills into your life.

Fee: $275 per 3-session course. Bundle of all three courses: $600

Course 1  The Culture Code by Daniel Coyle. Hone your communication skills to build trust and positive relationships with both staff and customers. Classes meet March 13, March 20, March 27

Course 2 Leading with Dignity by Dr. Donna Hicks  Create the foundations for diversity, equity and Inclusion as well as healing conflicts and challenges that come our way in work life or with customers. Classes meet May 1, May 8, May 15 

Course 3 Engaging Emergence: Turning Upheaval into Opportunity by Peggy Holman.  Learn effective principles and practices for working with change and the unexpected. Classes meet September 11, September 18, September 25
